Former Texas guard Courtney Ramey tells Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports that he has heard from over 15 schools since entering the transfer portal on Monday. Ramey (6-foot-3, 185 pounds) will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Ramey has heard from Cal, DePaul, Gonzaga, Kentucky, Marquette, Maryland, Missouri, Murray State, Oklahoma State, TCU, UConn, UNLV, Villanova, West Virginia, Wisconsin and others.
One notable interested school is Marquette, where Ramey’s old coach Shaka Smart is currently at now. Ramey played under Smart for three seasons at Texas.
Ramey averaged 9.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steals last season for Texas head coach Chris Beard. Ramey appeared in 128 career games for the Longhorns. The St. Louis native shot 40 percent from the field and 35 percent from three.
