Just days after entering the transfer portal, former FIU and Maryland guard Aquan Smart has already heard from four programs.

Smart told The Portal Report that he has heard from SEMO, Cal State Fullerton, Chattanooga and Illinois-Springfield.

Last season for FIU, Smart shot 39% from the field and 39% from three-point range, averaging 4.1 points per game. His best game came against St. Thomas, in which he scored 13 points and hit three of his six three-point attempts.

George Michalowski co-founded The Portal Report in 2022 with the goal of creating a media outlet completely focused on the transfer portal recruiting scene. In addition to his role with The Portal Report, Michalowski now works for Pittsburgh Sports Now as the site’s Pitt basketball beat writer and PrepHoops as a Pennsylvania high school basketball scout.
