On Monday morning, Jamarion Sharp announced that he would be staying at Western Kentucky despite rumors of a potential commitment to Missouri.
The 7-foot-5 big man played last season at WKU, where he averaged a Division-I-best 4.62 blocks per game, along with 8.2 points and 7.6 rebounds. The Conference USA Player of the Year was in the transfer portal, and was recruited by programs such as Memphis, Louisville, and Mizzou while in it.
Missouri head coach Dennis Gates was reportedly in solid position to land Sharp, due to the fact that he hired Sharp’s former JuCo coach, Kyle Smithpeters, as an assistant coach on his Tiger staff.
However, Sharp has decided to stay at Western Kentucky and continue to play for Rick Stansbury.
