Although Thursday brought about minimal action from the portal, we still witnessed multiple commitments, a new portal entrant, and a name withdrawn from the portal. The Portal Report has you covered with news and analysis from today’s portal action.

Portal Entrants

Jaxson Robinson has once again entered the portal, previously transferring from Texas A&M to Arkansas. During his lone season as a Razorback, Robinson averaged 3.4 points and 1.3 rebounds. The Ada, OK native will require a waiver to be eligible for the 2022-2023 season.

Commitments

Colorado State landed a commitment in the form of Illinois State transfer Josiah Strong. The 6-foot-4 guard, who began his career at Navy, tallied 11.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, connecting on 40.4 percent of his shots from three-point range. Strong will have one season of eligibility remaining.

All-WAC Second Team selection Montre Gipson is headed to Charlotte after a four-year career at Tarleton State. The Desoto, TX native led the Texans in scoring this past season, pouring in 14.9 points per contest. Gipson added in 4.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists, while starting 30 of the 31 games for the Texans.

Following two-year stints at Duquesne and Oregon, Eric Williams is headed to play for Steve Lavin at San Diego for his final season of eligibility. The Point Huron, MI native averaged 8.4 points and 4.6 rebounds this past season for the Ducks. Williams chose the Toreros over USC.

Returnees

Former Georgia walk-on Jaxon Etter becomes the second Bulldog to return after entering the portal, as the 6-foot-4 forward announced his intention to return to Georgia for his senior season. After averaging just eight minutes per game in 2021, Etter became a regular contributor for the Bulldogs this past season, tallying 5.1 points and 2.9 rebounds in 24.6 minutes per contest.
