Adam Miller Elects to Return to LSU, Exits Transfer Portal

After entering the transfer portal and narrowing his list down to TCU and LSU, Adam Miller will return to Baton Rouge. Miller, who missed to the 2021-2022 season due to an ACL injury, has yet to appear in a contest for the Tigers.

The Peoria, IL native began his career at Illinois, entering the transfer portal after his freshman season in 2021. Miller started all 31 games for the Illini, averaging 8.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest. The 6-foot-2 guard was an instant impact player among Big Ten newcomers, leading all freshman in three-point field goals (52) and notching 13 double-digit scoring performances.

The two-time Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year becomes the third Tiger to withdraw their name from the portal and return to LSU, joining starting forward Mwani Wilkinson and reserve guard Justice Williams.

Following the dismissal of Will Wade, Murray State head coach Matt McMahon took over the reigns in Baton Rouge after a mass exodus of 12 players to the transfer portal. McMahon has secured commitments from six transfers, including three former Racers and the reigning OVC Player of the Year KJ Williams.

As Miller was recently cleared to return to the court following his absence this past season, the former four-star recruit will provide a valuable scoring option in the Tigers’ backcourt.
