Duke’s Joey Baker Enters Transfer Portal

Published

on

On Wednesday, former Duke wing Joey Baker entered the transfer portal after four seasons with the Blue Devils.

“It has been an absolute pleasure having Joey in our program,” Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski said. “He’s been a joy to coach & a great leader. I’m thrilled he’ll be earning a degree from one of the great institutions in the world & I wish him all the best.”

Baker, a 6-foot-6 wing, played in 89 games in his Duke career, averaging a little over 11 minutes and four points per game. His best year came as a sophomore, when he played in 28 games, started three, and scored five points per game. Baker is a career 38% three-point shooter, having made 75 in his Blue-Devil days. The news of Baker planning to enter the portal comes on the same day as Duke hosts Northern Iowa sharp-shooting wing transfer AJ Green on a visit. Green is reportedly considering Iowa State and Duke, as well as professional options.
