On Thursday, Radford earned a commitment from former Pittsburgh guard Onye Ezeakudo.
Ezeakudo graduated from Pitt earlier this spring, and will now take his talents to the Highlanders program. The 6-foot guard joined the Pitt team four years ago as a walk on, and worked his way up to earning a scholarship this past season. The Fort Wayne, Indiana native played in 23 games across his first seasons, playing just under five minutes per game. However, as a senior, Ezeakudo ramped up his production and saw the court for 18.7 minutes per game. He started 12 of the 32 games that he appeared in, and hit 39% of his three pointers on the year.
The Highlanders have now landed Ezeakudo, DaQuan Smith (Murray State), Souleymane Koureissi (Richmond), and Madiaw Niang (Florida Atlantic) from the transfer portal this offseason, and will look to build on their 11-18 record from last year, head coach Darris Nichols’ first year at the helm.
