On Thursday, Eastern Michigan transfer Mo Njie announced his commitment to SMU. Njie picked the Mustangs over the BYU Cougars.

The Centerville, OH native spent just one season in Ypsilanti, where he averaged 6.6 points and 5.3 rebounds for the Eagles, making 25 starts. Njie recorded a career-high 16 points on two separate occasions, while recording two double-doubles in 28 games.

The 6-foot-10 big man connected on 61.9 percent of his shots from the field and was a member of the MAC All-Freshman Team. Njie tallied 30 blocks during the season, good for seventh in the MAC.

Nije’s commitment marks the sixth portal pledge for SMU this offseason, as the Mustangs look to replace the production from reigning AAC Player of the Year and future Memphis Tiger Kendric Davis.
