Tennessee WR Deangelo Gibbs Enters Transfer Portal

Published

on

Former five-star recruit and Tennessee wide receiver Deangelo Gibbs has entered the transfer portal. Gibbs spent three seasons with the Volunteers after beginning his career in Athens with the Georgia Bulldogs.

While at UGA, Gibbs was on the opposite side of the ball, lining up at defensive back for the Bulldogs. The Oxford, GA native appeared in 13 games in Athens, recording 10 tackles over two seasons.

Gibbs transferred to Tennessee following the 2018 season, converting to wide receiver after beginning his collegiate career on defense. The class of 2017 recruit would sit out the 2019 campaign due to NCAA transfer rules. Gibbs opted out of the 2020 season in Knoxville and did not record any statistics for the Volunteers in 2021.

As the former Volunteer and Bulldog enters the transfer portal for the second time, Gibbs will look to finish his collegiate career strong as he has seeks a new home.
