Memphis Receives Commitment From UT-Arlington Transfer Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu

On Sunday afternoon, UT-Arlington transfer Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu announced that he is committing to Memphis. Akobundu-Ehiogu posted his commitment on Twitter.

“How do you know the story ends well? I wrote the book,” Akobundu-Ehiogu wrote.

Akobundu-Ehiogu (6-foot-9, 202 pounds) spent two seasons at UT-Arlington, becoming one of the best defenders in the Sun Belt Conference. The Texas native averaged 4.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in 29 games for the Mavericks. Akobundu-Ehiogu had 11 games with four blocks or more.

Penny Hardaway and his coaching staff secured their third transfer in the portal. Kendric Davis (SMU) and Elijah McCadden (Georgia Southern) round out Memphis’ transfers for the 2022-23 season.
