On Sunday afternoon, Northwestern State picked up two transfer commitments from former Missouri State players, as Demarcus Sharp and Jamonta Black both decided to continue their careers for the Demons.

Black, a 6-foot-4 guard, played last season at Missouri State, averaging 8.7 points per game and shooting 41% from the field. Sharp, a 6-foot-3 guard who also played for Missouri State, scored five points per game and shot 42% from the field.

George Michalowski co-founded The Portal Report in 2022 with the goal of creating a media outlet completely focused on the transfer portal recruiting scene. In addition to his role with The Portal Report, Michalowski now works for Pittsburgh Sports Now as the site’s Pitt basketball beat writer and PrepHoops as a Pennsylvania high school basketball scout.
