Mike Farrell – National Football Analyst
Known as “The Godfather” of recruiting, Farrell joins The Portal Report after a stellar 24-year run with recruiting site Rivals. Farrell has covered football at all three levels, with national TV experience and over 20 years serving as Rivals’ National Recruiting Director. He will lead the way for The Portal Report’s football division, focusing on all things college football transfer portal through video interviews, written columns, and much more.
Mike Vukovcan – Co-founder, Football Recruiting Analyst
Mike Vukovcan co-founded The Portal Report with hopes of building yet another successful sports media outlet after spending more than 25 years in the industry. Vukovcan and the Sports Now team have launched over five sites within the network and have quickly become the dominant Pittsburgh-area college sports news outlet with PittsburghSportsNow.com. Vukovcan covers Pitt football recruiting for Pittsburgh Sports Now, and brings his recruiting expertise and connections to the national scene with The Portal Report.
George Michalowski – Co-founder, Director of Recruiting
George Michalowski co-founded The Portal Report in 2022 with the goal of creating a media outlet completely focused on the transfer portal recruiting scene. He has been covering college basketball recruiting for five years, dating back to a recruiting blog he created in high school called HSMidwest.com. He then contributed for Panther247, where he covered Pitt basketball within the 247Sports Network. In addition to his role with The Portal Report, Michalowski now works for Pittsburgh Sports Now as the site’s Pitt basketball beat writer.
Ethan Bock – Basketball Recruiting Analyst
Ethan Bock joins The Portal Report with years of experience covering college athletics within the Sports Now network, as he currently works for WV Sports Now as the West Virginia basketball beat writer. In addition to writing, he also serves as an intern with the Final Fourcast podcast. The Cincinnati, Ohio native has built up a strong network of Mountaineer fans and now looks to take his coverage to the national level with TPR.
Nick Lorensen – Basketball Writer
Nick Lorensen brings over four years of college sports coverage to The Portal Report, where he will work as a basketball writer. In addition to Lorensen’s role with TPR, he also produces Twitter content for Mid-Major Madness and is entering his fourth season writing for the website. The Baltimore native now resides in Columbia, South Carolina where he attends University of South Carolina. Lorensen follows DMV mid-majors, attending every game possible when back home.
Riley Frain – News Desk Writer
After two and a half years in Philadelphia reporting on St. Joe’s and Big 5 basketball, Frain brings loads of experience to The Portal Report having covered college hoops around the country. Frain joins TPR as a News Desk Writer, where he will cover breaking news, interviews, and features regarding transfer portal recruiting. A graduate of St. Joe’s, Frain now resides on Long Island, NY, where in addition to his work for TPR he works as a credentialed soccer reporter in the New York area.
Jacob Harris – News Desk Writer
Jacob Harris joins The Portal Report with several years of experience covering Texas Tech athletics as the Managing Editor for Guns Up Nation. Harris, a graduate of Texas Tech, joins The Portal Report news desk to contribute in both basketball and football. He will report on breaking news, write feature stories, and create content for the TPR social pages in his role.
T.J. Minsky – Basketball Recruiting Analyst, Graphic Designer
T.J. Minsky joins The Portal Report as a basketball recruiting analyst and graphic designer. Minsky has mastered the use of social media within the college sports recruiting industry, founding CBBContent on Instagram and growing the page to 54,000 followers. A true rising star in the industry, Minsky has been covering hoops since he was 14 and will continue to deliver breaking news, rankings, and more for The Portal Report. Minsky’s ability to connect with players and deliver state-of-the-art designs and edits will take The Portal Report to new heights.
