George Michalowski

Co-founder, Director of Recruiting

George Michalowski co-founded The Portal Report in 2022 with the goal of creating a media outlet completely focused on the transfer portal recruiting scene. Michalowski led TPR’s Scouting Team in 2023, working directly with more than 150 college basketball staffs in their transfer portal recruiting process. 

Matt Kraemer

Director of Analytics

Kraemer joined The Portal Report in September 2023. A certified data analyst and certified public accountant, Kraemer provides expertise in several areas throughout the company. He leads the analytics team, creating and maintaining the new-and-improved database for “TPR Scout” – our NCAA-approved scouting service. Kraemer also creates groundbreaking content for TPR with a focus on analytics. His state-of-the-art data analysis tools allow fans to track their favorite teams’ transfer portal recruiting activities and follow performance of former transfer players in college basketball and football.

Jacob Harris

Social Media Manager

Jacob Harris joined The Portal Report in October 2022 with several years of experience covering Texas Tech athletics as the Managing Editor for Guns Up Nation. Harris, a graduate of Texas Tech, worked for The Portal Report on the news desk to contribute in both basketball and football. Since then, Harris has done just about everything for TPR, working with subscribing coaches on TPR Scout, designing graphics for TPR’s Social Media pages, and more.

Riley Frain

Scout

Frain has been a part of The Portal Report team since May 2022, and has moved up through the company ranks at a rapid rate. After two and a half years in Philadelphia reporting on St. Joe’s and Big 5 basketball, Frain brought loads of experience to The Portal Report having covered college hoops around the country. With TPR, he started as a News Desk Writer, where he covered breaking news, conducted interviews, and wrote features regarding transfer portal recruiting. The St. Joe’s graduate then worked with TPR’s Scouting Team, leading TPR’s Division Two coverage and updating TPR’s databases.

Derek Brither

Derek Marchione

Director of Women’s Basketball Outreach & Development

Derek Marchione joined The Portal Report in January 2025 as Director of Women’s Basketball Outreach & Development. In his role, he works directly with TPR’s women’s college basketball clients, assisting staffs in their transfer portal recruiting process. Marchione comes to TPR with over 10 years of experience in college basketball. He most recently served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of New Hampshire from 2020-2022. Prior to that, he was the Head Coach at SUNY Sullivan, where he led the Women’s Basketball team to the NJCAA National Tournament and Ranking. Before Sullivan, he held the positions of Head Coach at Putnam Science and Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Georgian Court University.

Chris Ford

Player Personnel Analyst

Chris Ford joined The Portal Report in October 2025 as a Player Personnel Analyst. With TPR, he assists players with recruiting exposure and mentors transfers—taking lessons from his own experience as a former transfer to advise them through their own process. Ford played collegiately at Robert Morris and Davidson. At RMU, he appeared in 89 games across three seasons, shooting over 58 percent from the field. Before that, Ford helped Davidson to a 27-7 record and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2021-22.

Alaina Morris

Editorial Intern

Alaina Morris is a senior at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. where she will graduate in December 2025 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Media. Alaina covers Vanderbilt sports for Vandy247 and contributes women’s basketball coverage to Basket Under Review. When she’s not writing, Alaina broadcasts a variety of sports on ESPN+ for schools across Nashville.

Quentin Williams

Editorial Intern

Quentin Williams is a Baltimore-raised native New Yorker, and a senior at St. John’s University. Since childhood, Quentin’s enthusiasm for sports has been a driving force, evolving from athletic participation to a strong desire to enter the sports media world. Now serving as the Editorial Intern for The Portal Report, Quentin has another opportunity to blend his passion and studies, further fueling his relentless pursuit of excellence.

Conlan O'Donoghue

Video Coordinator

Conlan O’Donoghue joined the TPR team in December 2025 as Video Coordinator. A graduate of Duquesne University, O’Donoghue was heavily involved with the men’s basketball team while at the University, serving as the Head Manager and playing an integral role in gameday operations and team support. He graduated from Duquesne with a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Information and Media.
