On Friday night, California’s Andre Kelly entered the transfer portal while keeping a return to Cal as an option.

Kelly is a 6-foot-8 forward who played four years for the Golden Bears in the Pac 12. This year, he averaged 13.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game prior to suffering a season-ending ankle injury. He hit 61% of his field goals on the year. He has played in over 100 games in his college career, with 72 starts to his name. His minutes per game, points per game, and rebounds per game each improved with each season at Cal, as he cemented himself into one of the most consistent forwards in the conference by his junior and senior years.

“I have declared for the 2022 NBA Draft and I will keep my focus on my intentions of getting healthy and playing professional basketball,” Kelly said in an Instagram post. “As a safeguard, I will consider returning to Cal while also entering the transfer portal.”

Kelly’s best game of the year came against Southern Utah, in which he scored 29 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.
