Bob Huggins is attempting to be aggressive in landing a big-name transfer.
The Portal Report has learned that the West Virginia head coach is in Connecticut on Monday meeting with former 4-star forward Akok Akok, who entered the transfer portal last week. The former Top-100 recruit is one of the more intriguing big men available because of his skillset both offensively and defensively.
Akok, who was hampered by injuries during his second season in UConn, is a presence defensively in the paint and brings an outside and inside game offensively.
TPR is told that on Wednesday, Akok will make an official visit to Georgetown and then visit Pitt on Friday and Saturday. If he doesn’t decide on one of those schools, Akok is expected to make an official visit to Morgantown early next week.
