Former SMU Star Kendric Davis to Commit Tonight

Published

on

On Friday night, one of the top prospects in the transfer portal, guard Kendric Davis, will be committing to a new program.

Davis, who The Portal Report ranks as the No. 2 available guard in the entire portal, is a 5-foot-11 guard who starred at SMU for the last three seasons. Davis averaged at least 19 points per game in each of the last two seasons for the Mustangs.

Davis recently announced that he had cut his list down to seven schools: Gonzaga, Texas, Houston, Kansas, Texas Tech, TCU, and Memphis. Since that top seven announcement, CBS’ Jon Rothstein reported that Davis had eliminated and was no longer considering Gonzaga and Texas.

Whoever lands Davis will be landing one of the most prolific scorers in all of college basketball. He has scored over 1,500 points in his career, and took his game to new heights this season starting a career-high 32 games and maintaining his spectacular production. The reigning AAC Player of the Year is a career 45% shooter from the field, and has hit 35% of his three-point attempts. He is a native of Houston, Texas, and has spent time playing in Texas throughout college with stops at TCU and SMU.
