All was quiet on the transfer front today with one commitment and one name back in the portal. Jon Scheyer landed the experience and shooting he needed, while a mid-major transfer decommitted from St. Bonaventure. The Portal Report has you covered with the news and analysis from Saturday’s transfer portal action.

Portal Entrants

After originally committing to St. Bonaventure, Detroit Mercy transfer Noah Waterman is back in the portal. Waterman averaged 8.0 points and 4.0 rebounds this past season, shooting 42.9 percent from the field. The 6-foot-11 junior spent two seasons with the Titans, tallying 9.6 points while shooting 48.6 percent from the field and 44.0 percent from beyond the arc. As news broke of his decommitment, it was also announced that Waterman plans to visit BYU in the coming days.

Commitments

Illinois grad transfer Jacob Grandison has committed to Duke for his final season of eligibility. The 6-foot-6 wing brings the Blue Devils two components that Jon Scheyer’s inaugural roster needed: experience and shooting. Grandison has appeared in 124 games during his career, amassing 90 starts and connecting on 37 percent of his shots from beyond the arc. During his second season with the Illini, Grandison averaged 9.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.3 rebounds on 45.5 percent shooting. Grandison chose the Blue Devils over eight other finalists, including the likes of UCLA, Michigan, and Kentucky.
