Kansas QB Conrad Hawley Commits to Iowa State to Play Basketball

On Saturday morning, Kansas quarterback Conrad Hawley announced that he will transfer to Iowa State to play basketball.

Yes, you read that right. Hawley made his commitment official on Twitter.

“Pumped for this new journey! LFG,” Hawley wrote.

Hawley (6-foot-5, 220 pounds) entered the transfer portal back in December but who expected him to switch sports at the same time. Hawley committed to Kansas in January of 2021 and spent one season with the program. In his senior year of high school, Hawley threw for 2,722 passing yards with 26 touchdowns. The Missouri native was named All-State and was the Offensive Player of the Year in the state.

Hawley played basketball at Raymore Peculiar High School in Missouri.

Iowa State head coach TJ Otzelberger picks up his sixth transfer from the portal with Hawley joining Osun Osunniyi (St. Bonaventure), Hason Ward (VCU), Jaren Holmes (St. Bonaventure), Jeremiah Williams (Temple) and Tre King (Georgetown).
