On Tuesday, Central Michigan guard Kevin Miller entered his name in the transfer portal after one season with the Chippewas.

Miller quickly emerged as a leader in Mount Pleasant, leading Central Michigan in both scoring and assists. The Chicago, IL native averaged 13.1 points, 4.6 assists, and 3.4 rebounds, earning a spot on the MAC All-Freshman Team.

The 6-foot guard ranked third in the conference in assists, while finishing fourth with a 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio. Miller was also a threat from beyond the arc and at the charity stripe, shooting 36 percent and 77.9 percent, respectively.

As a rookie, Miller started 28 of 30 contests for Tony Barbee, tallying 32.9 minutes per game. The former Chippewa scored in double figures 21 times, including eight consecutive games in February. Miller amassed a career-high 25 points during that stretch in a loss to Ohio.

With Miller entering the portal after the May 1st deadline, he will require a waiver to be eligible for the 2022-2023 season. After a successful freshman campaign, expect the floor general to command interest from Power Five programs.
