Report: UTEP Transfer G Keonte Kennedy Will Re-Enter Transfer Portal, Not Enroll at Vanderbilt

UTEP transfer G Keonte Kennedy will re-enter his name into the transfer portal and not enroll at Vanderbilt, as a source told The Dore Report. Kennedy transferred to head coach Jerry Stackhouse and the Commodores in May.

The reason why Kennedy is entering the transfer portal again is unknown. The Dore Report reached out to Vanderbilt’s program and did not receive a response.

Kennedy spent the last two seasons playing at Texas-El Paso, appearing in 43 games. The Aurora, CO, native averaged 14.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.8 steals for the Miners. Kennedy shot 42 percent from the field, 32 percent from three and 68 percent from the free-throw line. Kennedy started out his collegiate career playing his freshman year at Xavier.

EvanMiya ranked Kennedy as the 282nd in the country and a 3-star transfer. Kennedy has two years of eligibility left.

Vanderbilt now has one scholarship left remaining for the 2022-23 season. Stackhouse and his coaching staff received a commitment from UC-Davis transfer guard Ezra Manjon back in April.
