Former Transfer Andrew Nembhard Picked by Indiana Pacers

On Thursday night, former Florida and Gonzaga standout Andrew Nembhard was selected by the Indiana Pacers with the first pick of the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft.

Nembhard was the No. 23 ranked recruit coming out of high school having played for the loaded Montverde Academy program. He started his college career at Florida, where he earned All-Freshman honors in the SEC after posting 8 points and 5.4 assists per game as a rookie.

Then, Nembhard entered the transfer portal in late May 2020. According to Jon Rothstein, his decision was quickly narrowed down to USC, Gonzaga, or Duke. Nembhard decided to join the Zags, and ended up playing two seasons in Spokane. There, he started 48 games and averaged 10.5 points per game across his two years. Nembhard earned All-WCC honors in both of his seasons in the conference, as well as WCC Tournament MVP.
