After one season of action in Tuscaloosa, Alabama transfer Alex Tchikou is heading to Rhode Island. Tchikou previously visited St. Mary’s, while garnering interest from the likes of Florida State, Memphis, and Wake Forest.
The Paris, France native appeared in three games this past season, averaging 1.3 rebounds and 1.7 minutes per contest. Tchikou did not see action after the first month of the season, serving as a reserve for the Crimson Tide.
The 6-foot-11 forward missed the entire 2020-2021 season due to a ruptured Achilles.
Tchikou becomes the fifth transfer addition for Rhode Island this offseason, as Archie Miller looks to rebuild the Rams’ program in his first season. Miller and Tchikou will look to lead Rhode Island to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018.
