Former Pitt Running Back AJ Davis Re-Enters Portal After Stint at JMU

After spending the last few months practicing with James Madison, former Pittsburgh running back AJ Davis has once again entered the transfer portal.

Davis committed to JMU back in November and was previously listed on the team’s roster, but now appears back in the portal.

The former four-star running back was initially a member of the 2017 high-school class, ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 303 prospect in the class. Davis wrapped up his five-year Pitt career with 970 rushing yards and four touchdowns, while also catching 41 passes for 354 yards. Davis’ best season came in 2019 when he rushed 127 times for 530 yards and also racked up four touchdowns.

Davis appeared in three games last season for Pitt before entering the portal initially. He scored one touchdown against UMass. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
