More than a week after he entered the transfer portal, former Air Force guard Sheick Samoura has heard from a long list of schools inquiring about his talents.

Samoura told The Portal Report that UMBC, Cornell, and Columbia are the front runners in his recruitment at the moment. He did include that he has not narrowed his list and his recruitment is still open.

Samoura is looking for any size school. He is open to playing just about anywhere at any level. He is a high-academic player who earned a 4.2 GPA in high school. He is looking to fit in with his new program and play any role that his new program needs him to play.

SELF SCOUT

What are Samoura’s strengths?

“Attacking the basket and playing with athleticism. Foul trouble. Any role needed; versatile. A defensive pest. I am a long guard with a good shooting stroke and next level athleticism who does all the little things to help the team win. Weak side blocks are an underrated skill; averaged the most in the state of NC and NJ aside from 7 footers.”

What did he learn at his past school?

“That I can work and gain skills that I need for the next level.”
