Pick A Defensive End: Khris Bogle or Eyabi Anoma

Comparisons are inevitable in all aspects of sports and in college football it’s no different. But now with the transfer portal it’s even more common. How about a comparison of Big Ten edge rushers?

DE Khris Bogle, Michigan State vs. DE Eyabi Anoma, Michigan

This is intriguing in many ways as Anoma is a surprise addition to Michigan after leaving Tennessee-Martin for the Wolverines last week. The 6-4, 255-pounder is a former 5 star recruit but was dismissed from both Alabama and Houston and landed at the FCS level where he registered six sacks last season. He’s all about ceiling but he’s risky for sure.

As for Bogle, he was a four star out of high school and left Florida for Mel Tucker and Michigan State after being recruited by many others. The 6-4, 240 pounder has only had 8 sacks in his career at Florida but his upside is tremendous as well. He’s less of a risk than Anoma but has a lower ceiling overall. Some consider Anoma a dark horse for first round status but I have both players in the round three range.

Both are long, quick and explosive and do their best work with speed off the ball. Both can struggle against the run at times and both enter situations where they can make major impacts.

Bogle is my choice here as a surefire impact guy while Anoma is a question mark.
