Despite some struggles to start the 2022-23 college basketball season for the 2022 NCAA All-Regional Selection and former Saint Peter’s Peacock, Doug Edert has found his form with Bryant helping the Bulldogs to a 98-88 win over Detroit Mercy on Monday.

Averaging just 8.3 PPG, 2.3 RPG, and 2.3 APG with four appearances heading into this week, Edert managed a scoring flurry with a season-high of 23 points to lead the Bulldogs and shot a stellar 7-of-12 on three-point attempts to match a career-high on made three’s.

Edert’s contributions from behind the three-point line put Bryant just one shy of a program record for hitting 16 threes on the afternoon while an additional two assists from the 6-foot-2 guard would help break the program’s Division I record for total assists in a game with 25.

Furthermore, Edert played a solid defensive role as well against one of the top offensive mid-majors in the country with two huge steals helping to limit the Titans to a feasible 88 points and allowing 2021-22 Horizon League Player of the Year Antoine Davis minimal aid from his teammates on the attack.

With Bryant off to a 4-1 start on the season after bringing in a loaded transfer class and Edert beginning to settle in with his new program after the viral sensation that was the 2022 Saint Peter’s Tournament run, be on the watch for the Bulldogs once again this year following a move to the American East Conference.
