D’Moi Hodge leads Missouri to 8-0 Start with OT Win Over Wichita State

Transferring to Missouri following two seasons of NJCAA basketball and another two at Cleveland State, 2021-22 Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year D’Moi Hodge has been off to a great start for the Tigers averaging 16.9 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 2.6 APG.

In last night’s 88-84 win over Wichita State, Hodge continued to show his impressive form putting up 19 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and a steal en route to an overtime victory on the road while playing a team-leading 38 minutes.

Following head coach Dennis Gates over from Cleveland State, Hodge has become a leader on this Missouri squad with the graduate senior consistently producing on both the offensive and defensive sides

Hodge’s stability is best highlighted this year by an early season win for the Tigers in which he managed just shy of a career-high with 30 points, and an additional 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals to defeat SIU-Edwardsville 105-80.

With Missouri sitting atop the SEC early into non-conference play and as just 1 of 3 undefeated teams left in the conference, the Tigers have an exciting squad this year that will compete with this tough SEC competition and it’ll be D’Moi Hodge continuing to lead the way on both ends of the floor.
