Dante Cephas is one of the most interesting players in the transfer portal. He’s got everything you want in a receiver, size, great hands, and breakaway speed that allows him to separate from defenders. He was a 3-Star recruit coming out of high school and had 5 offers at the D1 level, 3 of which were FBS offers.
He chose Kent State over offers from Wisconsin and Toledo. After a couple of quiet season, he broke out in 2021 with a massive season. Cephas caught 82 passes and recorded 1,240 yards, and caught 9 touchdowns on the season. He had over 100 yards in a game 7 times.
He continued his success in 2022 in only 9 games. He recorded 48 catches and 744 yards on the year. He broke the Kent State single-season record with 13 catches and 246 yards against Ohio on October 1st. Cephas also recorded 3 scores on the year!
He has been one of the most sought after transfers in the portal this season. So far, he has received offers from Miami, Oklahoma, Kansas, Notre Dame, Penn State, West Virginia, and his hometown Pitt Panthers.
