Texas Tech’s Fardaws Aimaq Denies Transfer Rumors

On Friday, Texas Tech received some huge news as forward Fardaws Aimaq publicly announced that he would be staying in Lubbock, shutting down transfer rumors from this week.

Aimaq, a two-time WAC Defensive Player of the Year, averaged 18.9 and 13.6 rebounds per game last season for Utah Valley before entering the portal and eventually committing to Texas Tech. Aimaq stands at 6-foot-11, 245 pounds and began his career at Mercer in the SoCon. He then played two seasons at Utah Valley, averaging 10+ rebounds both seasons and shooting 49% from two and 45% from three in his two seasons there.

He has not seen the floor yet for the Red Raiders as he suffered a foot injury just before the season. His cast was recently taken off, according to reports.
