With the news of Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders taking the Colorado head coaching job recently, many around the country wonder which Jackson State players will follow behind and join him in Boulder.
One player that Buffs fans certainly want to follow behind is Travis Hunter, who officially entered the portal on Sunday night.
Hunter, a 6-foot-1 defensive back AND wide receiver, was the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2022 high school class one year ago. He made waves in the college football world on signing day, flipping his commitment to Jackson State and Prime after being previously committed to Florida State.
Hunter then played this season for Jackson State, earning two interceptions, eight pass breakups, and 15 tackles, and one touchdown. On the offensive end, he added 18 receptions for 190 yards and four touchdowns in his rookie season.
Now, it appears as though Hunter is physically in Colorado hanging out with Shadeur Sanders, Prime’s son and the future Buffs quarterback.
According to the Clarion Ledger, Coach Prime recently spoke about Hunter’s potential move to Colorado on Instagram:
“When is Travis coming? Real soon. I saw (speculation) online the other day,” Sanders said. “What do you think Travis is going to do? What is wrong with y’all? What is wrong with y’all sometimes? Some of the stuff y’all say puzzles me, puzzles the heck out of me.”
