The Texas Tech Red Raiders’ offensive line got a major boost today with the commitment of Western Kentucky transfer Rusty Staats.
Staats has 1 year of eligibility left and was a 2-year starter for Western Kentucky. He will provide a steady presence up front for the Red Raiders and will most likely fit in at the guard or center spot next season. Staats committed to Navy out of high school back in 2017. He now stands at 6-foot-4, 310 pounds and has previously earned All-Conference USA Honorable Mention honors as well as PFF All-Conference USA Second-Team honors, both in 2021.
Rusty Staats is a quick lineman who helps to set the line for a very explosive offense. @RStaats_53 @WKUFootball @DraftDiamonds are found at the #HulaBowl pic.twitter.com/V0Uy3lMwtx
