The Portal Report learned on Tuesday afternoon that Penn F Michael Moshkovitz officially entered the transfer portal. Jake Lieberman was the first to report that Moshkovitz will enter as a grad transfer.
Moshkovitz joins a pair of Penn teammates that have also entered the portal and will finish the year playing for the Quakers.
Pair of Penn Starters to Enter Transfer Portal as Grad Transfers
Lucas Monroe and Jonah Charles, two seniors currently playing for Penn, both entered the transfer portal in December but opted to finishing the season.
Ivy League does not allow any athlete to participate no longer than four calendar years with no graduate transfers. The league made an exception to the rule last academic year.
This move is allowed due to a rule change by the NCAA D1 Council back in September.
In September, the D1 Council modified its transfer rules to allow players who will enroll at other schools after graduating to enter the portal at any time, regardless of the NCAA’s Transfer Windows (60 days following championship selection day).
Moshkovitz averages 4.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists through two seasons (40 games) at Penn so far.
