Mike Farrell Ranks His Top Ten Transfer Portal Classes

Published

on

The transfer portal window finally closes this week so we can take a short breath and start to analyze what happened. I’ll start with my updated top 10 teams.

1. Florida State

To me this isn’t close based on quality. DB Fentrell Cypress and DL Braden Fiske cement this as the quality class of the cycle and FSU could make a run next season.

2. LSU

WR Aaron Anderson from Alabama and DB Denver Harris from Texas A&M have the potential to be great. And I mean great.

3. USC

RB Marshawn Lloyd adds depth but WR Dorian Singer is the gem of this class and DL Anthony Lucas is the kind of trench player needed.

4. Michigan

I love what Michigan is doing up front and if Jim Harbaugh stays this group plays to his strengths in a massive way.

5. Arizona State

Kenny Dillingham is getting after it with QB Drew Pyne the headliner and a much needed group of OL.

6. Auburn

Hugh Freeze has been on fire lately with DT Justin Rogers from Kentucky the biggest fish. But OL Avery Jones from East Carolina might make the biggest impact.

7. Colorado

Deion Sanders is revamping his roster and has a ton of talent in this large class led by Travis Hunter. 23 commitments keeps this class in my top 10 but many are reaches so we will see.

8. Oklahoma

The Sooners class isn’t huge but the quality is amazing. Led by LB Dasan McCullough and DL Jacob Lacey we all know the defense needs work and it’s being addressed.

9. Oklahoma State

There aren’t a lot of guys you’d know in this class but trust me, it’s a good one. DE Anthony Goodlow and WR De’Zhaun Stribling are potentially elite but I am scratching my head at Alan Bowman at QB.

10. Tennessee

I like what the Vols are doing more than most and while WR Dont’e Thornton is an important addition, it’s the defensive additions that impress me.
