Teams from all over the SEC brought in impactful transfers this offseason.
Now, through seven weeks, some are performing to their potential, and some aren’t. Let’s check out the top transfers so far in the SEC this year.
10. TREZMEN MARSHALL – ALABAMA
Marshall, a Georgia transfer, has racked up 40 tackles so far (18 total) along with 3.5 TFL and 2.5 sacks for the Tide.
9. PAYTON THORNE – AUBURN
Thorne has the Tigers at 3-3 on the year, but has struggled so far in SEC play with an 0-3 conference record. He has thrown for 745 yards and four touchdowns and also has two TDs on the ground.
8. TRE HARRIS – OLE MISS
Harris has caught 17 passes for 367 yards and six touchdowns.
7. ZY ALEXANDER – LSU
Alexander, a Southeastern Louisiana transfer, has 39 tackles (26 solo) along with 7 passes defended and one interception.

6. JOSH DEBERRY – TEXAS A&M
Deberry has shined for the Aggies, totaling 31 tackles (25 solo), 3.5 TFL, one sack, seven passes defended, one QB hurry, and two interceptions.
The former Notre Dame running back has carried the Tigers backfield, rushing for 585 yards and five touchdowns.
4. DEVIN LEARY – KENTUCKY
Leary, an NC State transfer, has thrown for 13,00+ yards and 14 touchdowns so far, while also adding one rushing TD.
Thomas has had a monster year, racking up 69 tackles (32 solo), 5.5 TFL, 2.5 sacks, two passes defended, and two QB hurries.
Mertz has been solid for the Gators after transferring in from Wisconsin. Stats so far: 1,872 passing yards, 12 TD, 2 INT, 78.31% completion. Two rushing TD as well. The Gators are 5-2 heading into a matchup against Georgia in two weeks.
Davis has been a STAR for the Wildcats. He has 781 yards rushing, eight rushing touchdowns, 193 receiving yards, and five touchdowns through the air.
