With so many big time games scheduled and tons of talented players set to face off in Week 8 of the College Football season, defensive transfers will have an opportunity to lead the way in The Portal Report’s Games of the Week. Here’s our top-5 games to watch this upcoming weekend:

5.) Washington State at No. 9 Oregon – 3:30 ET ESPN

The Ducks and transfer quarterback Bo Nix will look to bounce back after a tough 36-33 loss at Washington. While UNLV transfer Kyle Williams looks to lead the formerly ranked Cougars back to winning ways following consecutive losses to UCLA and Arizona.

4.) No. 16 Duke at No. 4 Florida State – 7:30 ET ESPN

Although the Blue Devils will likely be without QB Riley Leonard, the defense will have an opportunity to be the difference maker with transfers Myles Jones and Al Blades leading the way. On the Seminoles side, Louisville transfer Jordan Travis and former Michigan State receiver Keon Coleman look to remain undefeated following a bye week.

3.) No. 14 Utah at No. 18 USC – 8 ET Fox Sports

With USC’s first loss of the season coming in a 48-20 thrashing from Notre Dame, Oklahoma transfer Caleb Williams and Co. need to bounce back as they welcome in a conference rival. However, the Utes aren’t to be overlooked and the transfer trio of Logan Fano, Levani Damuni, and Miles Battle will have a big say in the outcome of this Pac-12 matchup.

2.) No. 17 Tennessee at No. 11 Alabama – 3:30 ET CBS

Michigan transfer Joe Milton and the Vols will square off with Trezman Marshall and Jaylen Key of the Crimson Tide in a battle that could have major implications on the SEC Championship come the end of this season.

1.) No. 7 Penn State at No. 3 Ohio State – Noon ET Fox Sports

Minnesota transfer Trey Potts will be tasked with maintaining the Nittany Lions running game as Penn State tries to continue this undefeated run against Ohio State. Between Davison Igbinosun, Ja’Had Carter, and Tywone Malone, the Buckeyes certainly have the defensive transfer pieces to limit just about anybody.
