Quinn Ewers Returns to Texas Lineup in Final Stretch of Regular Season

Texas QB Quinn Ewers returned to the field last weekend against TCU. Ewers, a 6-foot-3 sophomore, looks to clinch the Longhorns a spot in the Big 12 Championship game. Texas is currently still in the College Football Playoff hunt as well.

Ewers’ stats in 2023:

2,232 passing yards, 14 touchdowns, 4 interceptions, 70.3% completion rate

Ewers is 7-1 in games he’s started for Texas. Ewers was sidelined against Kansas State and BYU with a shoulder injury in his throwing arm. Ewers came back against TCU, recording 317 passing yards with a touchdown in a road win.

“I felt like I just went right in there and was just as comfortable as when I left. I was just fired up to be back out there, couldn’t thank the Lord enough,” Ewers said to media.

Texas has to travel to Ames, Ia. to play Iowa State before hosting Texas Tech in their final Big 12 regular season game. Ewers has set up the Longhorns for potential success heading into year one of the SEC era in 2024.
