Frain: Great Osobor’s Double-Double Led Transfer Perfomances this Week

After two season’s at Montana State averaging 10.1 PPG and 4.6 RPG, earning the 2022-23 Big Sky Sixth Man of the Year, 6-foot-8 forward Great Osobor hit the portal this offseason and arrived at Utah State.

Following first-year Utah State head coach Danny Sprinkle, Osobor has enhanced his game in Logan, UT averaging career-best across the board at 22.3 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 3.7 APG, 1.3 STLPG, and 2.7 BKPG to start the season.

This past week however, the Bradford, U.K. native put on a show to overcome an early deficit against local rivals Southern Utah and give the Aggies a 93-84 win.

To complete the comeback, Osobor contributed a team-leading double-double with 31 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, three blocked shots, and a steal.

The performance marked a bounce back from the Aggies after an OT loss to Bradley last Saturday, in which Osobor managed 22 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks.

Behind their new pair of Montana State transfers in Osobor and Darius Brown II averaging 15 PPG, 7.7 APG, and 2 STLPG, Utah State will pick up right where the program left off under head coach Ryan Odom last season.
