With the fifth week of the college basketball season underway, let’s take a look at our top-20 transfer guards to start the season based on TPR’s College Basketball Fantasy Scoring Metrics.
1.) DeMarcus Sharp – Austin Peay
FPTS/G:43.6
With the 6-3 two-time transfer following head coach Corey Gipson over from Northwestern State, Sharp has continued his immense offensive output averaging 19 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 5.1 APG, and shooting 45% from the floor.
2.) KK Robinson – Little Rock
FPTS/G: 38.6
The former top-100 prospect arrived at Little Rock this offseason following stints at Arkansas and Texas A&M to join a rebuilt Trojans roster, now averaging career-best of 19 PPG, 5.4 RPG, and 5.4 APG.
3.) Shahada Wells – McNeese State
FPTS/G: 36.4
After finding success at UT Arlington, Wells spent the past two seasons at TCU where he battled for playing time, but now joins first-year Cowboys head coach Will Wade and is averaging 19.1 PPG and 3.3 APG.
4.) Allen Flanigan – Ole Miss
FPTS/G: 35.9
Following his father Wes Flanigan over from interconference rivals Auburn, Flanigan is averaging 18 PPG and 6.9 RPG while recently leading Ole Miss to a 77-76 road win over Temple with 26 points.
5.) Jamarii Thomas – Norfolk State
FPTS/G: 34.1
Stats: 17.9 PPG, 3 APG, 2.7 STLPG, 44% FG, 42% 3P
6.) Sahvir Wheeler – Washington
FPTS/G: 33.0
Stats: 16.1 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 6.9 APG, 1.4 STLPG, 45% FG
7.) Jaylin Sellers – UCF
FPTS/G: 32.9
A step up to the Big 12 hasn’t phased the former All-MAC Third Team selection at Ball State, leading the Knights in scoring at 21.9 PPG, and adding 5.6 RPG, 1.4 STLPG, while shooting 50% from the floor.
8.) Isaiah Swope – Indiana State
FPTS/G: 32.6
Stats: 19.7 PPG, 2.1 APG, 2.2 STLPG, 50% FG, 45% 3P
9.) Walter Clayton – Florida
FPTS/G: 32.3
Stats: 16.9 PPG, 4 RPG, 3.8 APG, 1.9 STLPG, 47% FG, 37% 3P
10.) Javon Small – Oklahoma State
FPTS/G: 32.3
While the Cowboys are struggling at 3-5, the East Carolina transfer has transitioned well averaging 19 PPG and 5.1 APG which included a recent 29-point, 10-rebound double-double in OT against Notre Dame at the Barclays Center.
11.) Jordan King – Richmond

Stats: 21 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 2.3 APG, 1.1 STLPG, 53% FG, 50% 3P
12.) Anthony Pritchard – Central Michigan

13.) Ishmael Leggett – Pitt

With the former Rhode Island guard averaging 15.1 PPG, 7.1 RPG, and 2.9 APG for Jeff Capel’s Panthers, Leggett has been rising up national recruiting ranks behind a 17 point performance against Clemson on Monday.
14.) Noah Reynolds – Green Bay

After leading North Texas to an NIT title last season, the 2022-23 Conference USA Player of the Year is averaging 16.4 PPG, 5.4 APG, and just last week led the Wildcats to a win over Oral Roberts with 20 points and six assists.

19.) Sebastian Thomas – UAlbany

For both Thomas and Marshall, Great Danes assistant coach Ryan Daly recently told TPR that when each hit the portal, he saw two highly talented guards that just needed an opportunity.
“I’ve been honest with [Thomas and Marshall] that they need some confidence, some love, and that’s what our staff is here to do and I think we’ve done a good job with those two specifically.” said Daly.
