Utah State Transfers Look to Reach NCAA Tournament First Year with Sprinkle

Utah State made their AP poll debut on Monday afternoon. The Aggies are led by first-year head coach Danny Sprinkle, who came by way of Montana State last offseason. Sprinkle has a team formed around the transfer portal as USU sits at 14-1.

Utah State has quality wins over Colorado State (77-72), San Francisco (54-53), Akron (65-62) and Santa Clara (84-82). Their only loss comes from Bradley during the first week of the season. Let’s take a look at the transfers that have helped the Aggies compete for an NCAA Tournament bid year one under Sprinkle.

Ian Martinez, G – Maryland

Stats: 12.8 PTS, 3.2 REB, 1.4 AST

Darius Brown, G – Montana State

Stats: 10.5 PTS, 3.7 REB, 7.3 AST

Josh Uduje, G – Coastal Carolina

Stats: 8.4 PTS, 2.7 REB, 0.8 AST

Max Agbonkpolo, F – Wyoming

Stats: 5.4 PTS, 3.9 REB, 0.7 AST

Utah State has been a top offensive team in the country, ranking 13th in field goal percentage at 50.1%. The Aggies will look to improve their Mountain West record as they play Wyoming and UNLV this week.
