2023 was an incredibly successful year for Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks. Lanning led Oregon to a 12-2 record and a 45-6 win at the Fiesta Bowl. On top of that, Lanning started 2024 with a bang by turning down the nation’s most coveted job at Alabama. However, the Ducks lost to Washington twice this season, meaning Lanning is 0-3 in his career against the Huskies.

The good news for Lanning and the Ducks is the incredible recruiting Lanning and his staff have been able to do. Lanning pulled in the No.6 class of high school talent and currently has the No.5 portal class according to 247Sports. TPR dives into this loaded class ordered by when each player committed.

Dillon Gabriel, QB

The leading career fantasy scorer according to TPR’s fantasy point system by a wide margin, Gabriel has incredible experience at the collegiate level. The newest QB1 for Oregon has big shoes to fill with the departure of Bo Nix, but with 14,865 passing yards and 125 touchdowns under his belt, Gabriel should be more than up to the task.

Matthew Bedford, OL

After announcing his commitment to Colorado and Coach Prime on December 12th, former Indiana guard Matthew Bedford announced his decision to come to Eugene just under a week later. Bedford started 11 of 12 games for the Hoosiers at right guard last season and should have an instant impact at Oregon.

Dante Moore, QB

Waiting in the wings is former five-star recruit and Oregon commit Dante Moore. Moore, who decided to play his freshman year at UCLA after decommitting from Oregon, struggled when he was thrown into the starting role early in the year. Moore has vocalized his desire to be patient and learn, and with an experienced signal caller like Gabriel at the helm, Moore has a perfect mentor.
