No. 10 Alabama – Cliff Omoruyi
While the Crimson Tide have primarily been carried by returners such as Mark Sears, Grant Nelson and Latrell Wrightsell to start the season, Omoruyi has still carved out a role. The 6-foot-11 center has started 8/8 for Alabama and even contributed 12 points, nine boards and a blocked shot to defeat a solid mid-major program in Arkansas State back in Week Two.
Arkansas – Adou Thiero
Despite averaging just 7.2 PPG at Kentucky last season, Thiero has exploded onto the scene with a career-high 17.6 PPG, 5.6 RPG and 2.5 STLPG in following John Calipari over to Arkansas. His best performance of the early season though, came during a neutral court loss to Illinois in which Thiero lead all scorers with 26 points and six boards on 7-for-13 shooting.
No. 2 Auburn – Miles Kelly
In Auburn’s rise to the second ranked program nationally, Kelly has proven the perfect addition in this backcourt to help the Tigers compete for another SEC title come March. Though he’s only just ingratiated himself into the starting lineup, the Georgia Tech transfer is averaging 10.0 PPG while shooting 45% from the floor and 41% from three-point range.
No. 13 Florida – Alijah Martin
A three-time All-Conference selection at Florida Atlantic, Martin has had no problems with a step up to the high-major ranks averaging career-highs of 15.1 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 3.0 APG and 1.9 STLPG. Leading a recent win over Southern Illinois, Martin fell just two points shy of his career-high with 32 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals on the defensive end.
