Alabama secured a big-time transfer on Thursday night in Ohio guard Mark Sears. Sears (6-foot-1, 185 pounds) commits to Crimson Tide head coach Nate Oats and has three years of eligibility.

“I’M COMING HOME #Rolltide,” Sears said on Twitter.

Auburn, Creighton, Florida, Georgetown, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Samford, South Carolina, Texas, West Virginia and others were also interested in the former Bobcat.

Sears (6-foot-1, 185 pounds) has spent his first two seasons in Athens, Ohio, recording great production for head coach Jeff Boals. This past season, Sears averaged 19.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists through 35 games for the Bobcats. Sears shot 44 percent from the field, while shooting 40 percent from three. The Muscle Shoals, AL, native was apart of the 2021 tournament team that upset No. 4 seed Virginia in the first round.
