Farrell: Breaking Down Jarvis Brownlee’s Commitment to Louisville, Why He Left FSU

Louisville landed DB Jarvis Brownlee from the transfer portal this weekend and they are getting a confident, almost brash island corner who has average size but makes up for it with length and closing speed.

The Miami native had 77 tackles and three interceptions over the last two seasons and was reportedly on the outs with the FSU staff due to a Name, Image and Likeness deal that fell through. However, I’ve been told this isn’t the case and that a disagreement between Brownlee and head coach Mike Norvell was the real reason he left.

Brownlee plays with a chip on his shoulder and has an intense personality and I think he’s going to fit well at Louisville and help them recruit South Florida better if he has success. He’s the fifth defensive back in this Louisville transfer class and it’s an area of need when it comes to depth and experience. Brownlee is a high risk and high reward personality and his experience will be key.

He was a three star out of high school and I have him as a three star transfer defensive back as well.
