Morehead State Transfer Johni Broome to Visit Auburn Next Weekend

Ohio Valley Defensive Player of the Year Johni Broome will be making his official visit to Auburn next weekend, he told The Portal Report. Broome (6-foot-10, 235 pounds) is currently trying to schedule a visit with Kentucky as well.

Broome has spent his first two seasons at Morehead State under head coach Preston Spradlin. The Plant City, FL, native was selected to the Ohio Valley All-Team in back-to-back seasons. During his sophomore season at MSU, Broome averaged 16.8 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.9 blocks. Broome shot 56 percent from the field.

Broome recently threw his name into the 2022 NBA draft, but did not hire an agent, leaving him open to return to college depending on the level of interest he receives. Broome has three years of college eligibility remaining.
