Baylor G Matthew Mayer Enters Transfer Portal

Published

on

On Monday morning, Baylor’s Matthew Mayer officially entered his name into the transfer portal. This comes a week after Mayer declared for the 2022 NBA draft.

Mayer (6-foot-9, 225 pounds) played four seasons at Baylor under head coach Scott Drew. Mayer was a huge piece off the bench during Baylor’s 2021 National Championship run. Mayer averaged 9.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals through 33 games for the Bears this past season.

As Mayer enters the transfer portal, he is also considering a professional career. If Mayer takes his name out of the NBA draft, then expect him to start listening to other programs around the country to play his final year of college basketball.
