St. John’s Adds Another Top Transfer in David Jones

Published

on

On Sunday night, Zach Braziller of the New York Post reported that St. John’s had received a commitment from DePaul transfer David Jones.

Jones is a versatile 6-foot-6 guard/forward who averaged north of 14 points and seven rebounds per game as a sophomore this season. He shot 45% from the field, as well as 30% from three-point range on the year. The Santo Domingo native chose St. John’s after visiting Madison Square Garden within the last few days and hanging out with current Johnnie and fellow Dominican Republic native Joel Soriano.

St. John’s has now added two of the top overall transfers in the portal, adding Andre Curbelo to bolster the back court as well as Jones. Curbelo joins the back court led by Posh Alexander, and Jones joins the lineup to provide more scoring from the wing/forward spot.
