Today’s transfer portal didn’t see much action as the weekend comes to a close but with that NBA Draft exit deadline inching closer and closer each day, we’re seeing lots of players opting for a return to school to the benefit of college basketball. The Portal Report has you covered on the three latest commitments and returnees from Sunday’s transfer portal action.
Commitments
Following two seasons at Tennesse Tech, 6-foot-6 forward Austin Harvell will transfer to join Alabama A&M in a return home for the Athens, Alabama native. As a freshman, Harvell averaged 5.6 PPG and 4.2 RPG starting 25 games for the Golden Eagles but would only go on to make 7 appearances in 2021-22 before entering the transfer portal this offseason.
Returnees
Queens, NY native Tykei Greene has announced that he will withdraw his name from the 2022 NBA Draft pool and return to Stony Brook for his fifth season of college basketball with two at Manhattan and now set for a third with the Seawolves. Greene; a 6-foot-4 guard, averaged 14 PPG, 8.1 RPG, and 1.1 APG last season earning All-AEC honors while leading the conference in rebounding.
Former Flordia Gator and current Jacksonville Dolphin Osayi Osifo has declared that he will also be withdrawing from the 2022 NBA Draft with a return to Jacksonville on the cards for the 6-foot-7 forward. Originally a JUCO product, Osifo averaged just 1.9 PPG and 2.6 RPG in 20 appearances at Flordia but saw an upturn in production transferring last year and averaging 7.9 PPG and 5.9 RPG as a starter for Jacksonville this past season.
