Daily Portal Report: Evansville Adds Two Transfers; Buffalo Lands Double Digit Scorer

Saturday’s transfer portal action featured a slew of commitments at the mid-major level. Evansville received the commitment from two transfers and Buffalo earned an impact scorer. The Portal Report has you covered with news and analysis from today’s transfer portal movement.

Commitments

Illinois State transfer Sy Chatman will head to the MAC and play at Buffalo in his final year of eligibility. Chatman, who began his career at UMass, spent two seasons at both of his previous stops. The 6-foot-8 forward improved significantly in his senior season, averaging 13.5 points and 6.1 rebounds on 54.9 percent shooting.

Following a four-year stint at UNLV, 6-foot-3 guard Marvin Coleman is transferring to Evansville. The Las Vegas native appeared in 60 games over four years with the Runnin’ Rebels, tallying a 6.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in 2020. Coleman is a career 40.9 percent shooter, while connecting on 75.0 percent of his free-throw attempts.

Evansville gained its second portal pledge of the day in the form of Alabama State transfer Kenny Strawbridge. The Rockford, IL native spent two seasons with the Hornets, averaging 10.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Strawbridge appeared in 48 games, tallying 46 starts and 29.9 minutes per game.

6-foot-7 forward Braden Bell will spend his final year of eligibility at Prairie View A&M after three years at Marist. Bell appeared in 80 games for the Red Foxes, recording 6.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.
