After a season in which Oklahoma basketball was in a transitional period, head coach Porter Moser added to his roster some talented transfer portal additions. The Sooners are coming off of a 19-16 season and an NIT Tournament appearance.
Moser returns second-leading scorer Tanner Groves, who he acquired in the portal last offseason. Jalen Hill and Jacob Groves are other notable rotation layers returning to the Sooners for the 2022-23 season.

The Sooners lost starting guard Umoja Gibson to the transfer portal. Moser and his coaching staff picked up two great scoring guards in Grant Sherfield and Joe Bamisile. Sherfield averaged 19.1 points on 44 percent shooting from the field this past season for Nevada. Sherfield was named to the All-Mountain West Third Team this past season. Bamisile comes from George Washington, averaging 16.3 points.
Sherfield comes to Norman with two years of eligibility while Bamisile has three years.
Sam Godwin (Wofford) and Yaya Keita (Missouri) will add size to the Sooners’ frontcourt to help Groves and Hill. Godwin shot 62 percent from the field this past season.
