Breaking Down the ACC’s Most Impactful, Non-QB Transfers

It’s not always quarterbacks that make the most impact in the transfer portal as teams like Alabama, Georgia, Cincinnati and others can attest. Here are the most impactful non-QBs for each school continuing with the ACC.

Boston College — TE George Takacs

BC is a tight end friendly offense so the former Notre Dame pass catcher will play a key role and he can block as well.

Clemson — None

QB Hunter Johnson is the only transfer for the Tigers as Dabo Swinney continues to dig his heels in.

Duke — S Darius Joiner

The Western Illinois transfer should plug and play right away and he’s shown range and the ability to hit.

Florida State — DE Jared Verse

The Albany star could be the next Jermaine Johnson for FSU, he’s that athletic and elite as a pass rusher.

Georgia Tech — RB Dylan McDuffie

The transfer from Buffalo will be a huge help in trying to replace Jahmyr Gibbs and McDuffie could be a big surprise in the ACC.

Louisville — DT Jermayne Lole

There are skill position players you might be more familiar with but the Arizona State interior lineman is going to make a huge difference on defense.

Miami — DL Akheem Mesidor

Miami landed a ton of help on defense but the biggest impact should come from the West Virginia pass rusher and disruptor.

NC State — WR Darryl Jones

Jones is a big target for Devin Leary from Maryland and coming off a big bowl game with two touchdowns. He adds to a dangerous passing attack.

North Carolina — DL Jacolbe Cowan

The Ohio State lineman heads back home to North Carolina and will provide inside help and depth.

Pitt — WR Konata Mumpfield

Mumpfield will help replace Jordan Addison in the offense as he was the lead man for the Akron Zips last season and very productive.

Syracuse — WR D’Marcus Adams

The FAU transfer is a speedster and can stretch the field for the Orange if he can put it all together at his third and likely final stop.

Virginia — RB Cody Brown

The Miami transfer was a big name out of high school and has a high ceiling. He leaves a crowded running back room to UVA where he can excel.

Virginia Tech — WR Jadan Blue

Blue is far removed from his 1,000-yard 2019 season at Temple but the electric WR has something to prove and is a great fit here.

Wake Forest — DL Kobie Turner

The stout defensive tackle can also chase and comes from Richmond where he was an FCS All American.
