Heath is entering his second season at the helm in Ypsilanti, at his alma mater of Eastern Michigan. This offseason, the Eagles’ staff had a tremendous year recruiting the transfer portal, adding former five-star prospect and Memphis standout Emoni Bates, Legend Geeter (Providence), and Tyson Acuff (Duquesne).

Those players will join forces with EMU’s returning talent, including Noah Farrakhan, a well-known guard who averaged more than 16 points per contest last season for the Eagles. The 6-foot-2, Newark, New Jersey native shot 43% from the field last season and should provide stability for a team full of new faces that will surely contribute this year.

George Michalowski co-founded The Portal Report in 2022 with the goal of creating a media outlet completely focused on the transfer portal recruiting scene. In addition to his role with The Portal Report, Michalowski now works for Pittsburgh Sports Now as the site’s Pitt basketball beat writer and PrepHoops as a Pennsylvania high school basketball scout.
